Leather Lungs and Remasterblasters review – Glastonbury Festival 2024

Leather Lungs, the drag queen persona of Kiwi-Australian Jason Chasland, has a four-octave range and they put the highest and lowest notes to the test during their late-night set on Sensation Seekers Stage as they bring their falsetto and stilettos to Worthy Farm.

Also with them is a pair of dancers, Alice Cockayne and Hot Girl Xander, and one of the tightest bands to grace this year’s Glastonbury Festival, the Remasterblasters. They have a truly storming sound as they launch into Nelly Furtado’s Maneater, following an emotive version of former Sunday Legend Slot performer, Lionel Richie.

There’s a perfect balance of hits – from the eighties to the present day – with each pop song is given a tight rocky edge by the band. But what makes it is Leather Lungs’s range – this is the voice and the sound Axl Rose wishes he had. And it’s not just a sing-a-long – though you can do that too – it’s a serious event and a fun way to bring a close to the evening.

Leather Lungs was on Sensation Seekers Stage at Glastonbury Festival 2024, running from 26 to 30 June
