Things are starting to kick into life on Worthy Farm, with the fireworks and drone show last night acting as a signal that we’re here and we’re ready to get stuck in – if you weren’t already stuck in already.
Though Wednesday had some acts across the Theatre and Circus fields, Thursday is when the true variety of the fields begins to show with most tents running acts and events from today and only a few waiting until tomorrow to begin their scheduling.
Here are a few selections to get your day started in theatre & circus:
Thursday – Picks of the Day
Joe Wicks Workout – The Gateway – 11am
After a night on your camping mat it’s time to lumber up with a workout session on The Gateway with The Body Coach himself, Joe Wicks, who returns following his festival debut last year. As he says below, he’s ‘absolutely buzzing.’ Get down early for a spot at the front – we think it’ll be busy.
Otto and Astrid, Die Roten Punkte – Sensation Seekers Stage – 5pm
The pop-music comedy duo Otto and Astrid are the two halves of the German punk band, Die Roten Punkte and Berlin’s “Prince and Princess of art rock and Europop.” It’s going to be an interesting show – just check out the music video for their song ‘I Wanna Be Your Kitten’ above!
The Wheel of Four Tunes – Sensation Seekers Stage – 1am
It’s time to play with The Wheel of Four Tunes – part-gameshow, part-karaoke, part-madness. Every year, The Wheel of Four Tunes attracts large crowds to see the show’s hosts, dressed in spandex as Power Rangers, spin the wheel to decide the next karaoke hit – and it always gets a bit mad. We’ll be down there to review the show – meet you on the barrier?
Tony and Ray – The Glebe – 2:05pm
With a host of sets across the weekend, Tony and Ray provide interludes of eccentric dance, clown-slapstick as they collaborate and seek to outdo each other. The show is inspired by the Vaudeville and Variety acts of the past and performed by seasoned street theatre veterans, Jon Hicks and Matt Rudkin.
