Having earned widespread acclaim at the Fringe, both The Big Bite-Size Show will make its highly anticipated debuts at London’s Pleasance Main Theatre next month. We caught up with Nicholas Brice, founder of The Big Bite-Size Show, to find out what it’s like to be taking the show to London.
Q&A with Nicholas Brice
What can you tell us about The Big Bite-Size Show?
We aim to create a great cultural-hospitality experience that refreshes, stimulates, and entertains people from all backgrounds. Our shows are made up of an eclectic array of award-winning ten-minute plays, served with strawberries and a warm welcome from the cast.
We mean different things to different people. The show is a quick hit of culture that fits into a busy schedule, with eight perfectly timed short plays in one show. It is also a chance to experience the art of concise storytelling, featuring some of the best short form writing around.
From young professionals, to families, to cultural explorers, this diverse mix of stories makes for a fantastic, shared experience, with plenty to talk about afterwards.
How does it feel to be taking the show to London for the first time?
It’s both exciting and daunting! In Edinburgh, we have queues down the street every morning for our 10:30am breakfast show, so we’re thrilled to bring this experience to London audiences in the afternoons and evenings for the very first time.

The show has been at the Edinburgh Fringe for 18 years – what’s the secret to its longevity?
High-quality writing, carefully curated play menus, a warm welcome from the cast – and, of course, strawberries! We started with just three audience members for our first show, and now we sell out 300+ seats daily. Audiences know they can trust us for sharp writing, variety, comedy, eccentricity, and the occasional gripping mini drama.
What kind of short plays can London audiences expect?
This time, we’ve put together two thrilling menus of plays, packed with comedy, drama, and unexpected twists. From celebrities lost in orbit, to intimate power struggles, each play is a sharp, punchy burst of storytelling that will have audiences laughing, thinking, and talking long after the show ends.
And can we expect to see the show returning to Edinburgh in August?
Absolutely! We’ll be back with a brand-new programme of plays.
The Big Bite-Size Show is at Pleasance, London from 5 to 15 March 2025
