Interview: Lekiddo – Lord of the Lobsters is spreading the lobsterlicious love

At this point, Lekiddo is something of Glastonbury institution in his own right, with his famous “pinchy pinchy kiss kiss dance” entralling festival-goers so much that a pilgrimage to one of his sets is something of a right of passage. With performances across three stages at this year’s festival we caught up with Lekiddo to find out more about his unique set. We’ll let him do the talking.

Q&A with Lekiddo – Lord of the Lobsters

How does it feel to be heading to this year’s Glastonbury Festival to spread the lobster love again?

It feels Lobsterliciously clawsome to be heading to this year’s Glastonbury Festival to Spread the Lobster Love again 🧡 I’m really excited to be performing live in the utopian fields and am so looking forward to meeting up again with our Glastonbury friends and family who are the wonderful staff and crew.   And I can’t wait to see all my Beautiful PinchyPinchykisskiss Peoples – they make the festival the joyous place it is.

What is it about the festival that keeps you coming back?

It’s a special place like nowhere else.  The stage managing and sound crews are second to none.  The warmth of everyone in the fields creates an amazing vibe.  The experience and opportunities are unique and a fantastic place to express your art.  And between my 8 gigs there are over 100 stages and so much to see and do + several weird and wonderful Walkabouts …and at Theatre & Circus T&C also have a fabulous Greenroom ..ssshhh.

What are your plans for this year’s shows?

Oooooh do come along and joins us, It’s going to be so Lobsterlicious 🧡 I’ll be on new stages in Theatre and Circus Spreading the Lobster Love with 3 shows on Sensation Seekers Stage (Fri, Sat, Sun), 4x on The Gateway, Glebeland (1 each day Thurs thru Sun) and Thursday night at The Rabbit Hole Stage in The Park Field. Tell us about Leave No Trace, In Fields We Dance [FestivalTime Remixes]

Leave No Trace, In Fields We Dance [FestivalTime Remixes] is my first single release of from my new album ‘Lobsterliciously’.

It’s a clawsome eco-friendly banger for festivals, festival goers & playlists everywhere.  The message is simple and important, enjoy yourselves “Respect The Farm & Leave No Trace”.  We’ve all seen the picture of the aftermath of the festival – So let’s all enjoy the festival and then – leave the farm as we found it.  If you brought it, take it home.  Of course, it also has a gorgeous party beat #IFWD

I’ll ask everyone coming to Glastonbury and all festival to listen to and soak in the lyrics. We really want to get this beautiful message into everyone’s consciousness…. and of course, for them to come party with us in the fields at & Glastonbury Festival 2023 and other festivals, Spreading the Lobster Love

You can download on Bandcamp with a special video message.

Will you be checking out any other acts across the weekend?

I wish I had the superpower of getting around the festival in double quick time because there are so many great things going on.  Top if the list are our festival mates Land Of The Giants, The New York Brass Band, Mik Artistic and Paul Currie (Comedian) – you are guaranteed great fun with them.  Then I’ll be seeking out Gecko, Ed Petrie, Nova Twins (but I think we’ve got a gig clash), and I hope to get to Guns N’ Roses and Arctic Monkeys.  There is so much going on in Theatre and Circus fields too –  dazzling world class circus acts, hilarious walkabouts, and I always enjoy Marcus Du Sautoy’s fun with statistics show.

Lekiddo – Lord of the Lobsters plays The Gateway, Sensation Seekers Stage and The Rabbit Hole at this year’s Glastonbury Festival. Full details here.
